In 2008, Deutsche Bank opened a regional office in Jacksonville with 100 employees. Since that time, the financial institution has added 1,700 local jobs and plans to add a lot more. Recently, Deutsche Bank celebrated the expansion of its local operations with ribbon cutting ceremony 5201 Gate Parkway. As a part of its latest expansion, the company is committed to increasing its local workforce by another 350 jobs by the end of 2017. However, now with 350,000-square-feet of Southside office space to work with, Deutsche Bank CEO John Cryan believes their facilities can accommodate up to 2,800 workers.

A long time fixture in downtown’s skyline, Aetna plans to relocate its 800 employees to the Southside’s Gramercy Woods office park by August 2017. Aetna’s move could result in the insurer hiring an additional 150 to 300 jobs. In preparation of Aetna consuming 132,000-square-feet of office space at Gramercy, office park owner Gramercy Property Trust, Inc. plans to build a parking garage to accommodate the influx of employees.
