8 big firms hiring you and making jobs near Town Center

The headline may have grabbed your attention but Jacksonville's Southside is much more than St. John Town Center. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 22,800 jobs were added in the Jacksonville area between April 2015 and April 2016. Now more are on the way and a good share of them are heading to the Southside. If you're in need of employment or a career change, here's eight places to keep your eye on!

1. Mayo Clinic

The Mayo Clinic plans to begin construction on a $100 million expansion project at its Southside medical center campus this Summer. Expansion plans include the addition of a four story, 150,000-square-foot building that can eventually be expanded up to 15 stories. Over the next five years, Mayo plans to add 50 physicians and scientists and 250 allied health employees to support its expansion.
