5 hotel projects on their way to Downtown Jacksonville?

Making it a priority to jumpstart major construction throughout Downtown, the Mayor’s Office has earmarked $8 million in the city’s 2018 budget to prepare the site of the abandoned City Hall Annex and old Duval County Courthouse for redevelopment. Currently, the Mayor’s plans call for the demolition of the old courthouse complex and 15-floor City Hall Annex building along East Bay Street. While the Mayor’s Office has not officially announced its ultimate intentions for the site, recent Florida Times-Union articles and editorials suggest that a new convention center and hotel may be one of the options under consideration.
