Complete with a refurbished 1962 Airstream inside, Surfer The Bar recently opened its new Jacksonville Beach location on January 15, 2017. Operating in the former location of Freebird, the venue includes an outdoor bar area with a full craft cocktail menu and two indoor bars. Jacksonville Beach is the first mainland location for Surfer the Bar, which has its flagship location in Hawaii.
According to their website, “expect more than a bar. It’s a true original. Born from a legend – SURFER Magazine. 11. Atlantic Beach Brewing Company

The Beaches will gain another craft brewery when the Atlantic Beach Brewing Company opens its doors in April 2017. Located at 725 Atlantic Boulevard, the 7,000 square foot brewery will include a taproom featuring 20 taps. Initial plans are to open the family-owned brewery with a capacity of 3,000 barrels a year and feature a wide range of “Florida beers” from pale ales to stouts.
