57. MaliVia Washington Youth Foundation Teen Center

The MaliVia Washington Youth Foundation is in the process of building a new teen center at Emmett Reed Park. Called “Club 904”, the center will include a teaching kitchen, a music technology section and offer college preparation, job and leadership training, academic assistance and recreational activities.

58. Forest Street Classical School 391

A dream of Vestcor Companies chairman John Rood, construction efforts near completion for a charter school called the Jacksonville Classical Academy in Mixontown. With an anticipated fall 2020 opening, eventual plans call for a kindergarten through twelfth grade facility with 1,000 students.

59. 546 Myrtle Avenue

546 Myrtle Avenue is being converted into an indoor soccer training facility. Originally completed in 1950, the 13,000 square foot building will contain three fields, exercise and locker rooms, and a clubhouse area.
