Located at the southwest corner of Riverside Avenue and Forest Street, a vacant lot could become the next mixed-use development in Brooklyn.
The HUB is a mixed use urban infill project designed with two food vendor buildings with walk-up and inside dining that share a covered outdoor seating area and open courtyards along the streets edge. A Design Studio, with roof terraces for special events, overlooks the courtyards as well as views to the downtown skyline and the river. Featuring 201 seats, with 163 either covered or located indoors, the development is being designed to continue the community’s earlier sense of scale and place in an architectural language that speaks to the future while drawing inspiration from its industrial past.
The project will be considered for conceptual design approval by the Downtown Development Review Board at its next meeting on August 20. Here is a look at what is proposed for the 0.21-acre property.
