The Woodland Acres Community Church building at 8306 Free Avenue was erected in 1929.
Arlington Road is the historic main thoroughfare through Woodland Acres. Arlington Road connects Woodland Acres with Arlington.
The Arlington Road roadbed is the remnant of a 19th century dam on Strawberry Creek. The dam was constructed to create a pond with enough power to operate the Strawberry Plantation’s sawmill. A lasting remnant of plantation’s enslaved labor, the marsh is the pond that remained intact until the dam failed during the 1880s.

Woodland Acres is located along Arlington Road, between Strawberry Creek and Atlantic Boulevard, just west of Southside Boulevard.
