After decades of continuous demolition of buildings in the urban core, Laura Street is one of Downtown Jacksonville’s few remaining streets that is continuously lined with buildings from the riverfront to State and Union streets. Unlike the comparable streets in downtowns throughout the Southeast, it can be characterized as a corridor with little life on weekends and weekday nights.
