That Bar at the Arena
Construction of a new entertainment and nightlife addition could be on its way to the Sports & Entertainment District. Located at 234 A. Philip Randolph Boulevard, That Bar at the Arena is seeking conceptual design approval from the DDRB to construct a new two-story, 6,400 square foot deck adjacent to their existing 8,100 square foot brick building.
Independent Life Building
St. Augustine-based Augustine Development Group recently acquired a long abandoned 19-story building at 233 Duval Street. The developer plans to transform the tower, originally built for the Independent Life and Accident Insurance Company, into a mixed-use project featuring commercial/retail space on the first level, 140 apartments on levels two through 16 and a lounge/bar on level 19. With plans to begin construction in the first quarter of 2020, the developer is seeking conceptual review approval from the DDRB for the $28 million adaptive reuse project designed by Dasher Hurst Architects.
Southbank Crossing
Jacksonville-based Chase Properties recently acquired the former Reddi Arts Building, at 1037 Hendricks Avenue, with plans to raze and redevelop the 0.99-acre property. Chase intends to present conceptual plans for a new development featuring 4,457 and 6,001 square foot buildings for two restaurants.
