The newest phase of the Doro District development draws inspiration from Pinewood Social in Nashville. Pinewood Social is located within the Historic Trolley Barns at Rolling Mill Hill, a site that is within a remarkably similar distance to the newly constructed Ascend Ampitheater and Nashville’s Central Business District, than that of the Doro District and the Daily’s Place amphitheater currently under construction with Jacksonville’s Central Business District.
Originally constructed in the 1940’s to house storage and maintenance facilities for Nashville’s now defunct streetcar system, the complex had been the home to various municipal public works departments until 2008. In 2012 the Matthews Company acquired the property and embarked on the adaptive reuse of six buildings totaling 80,000 square feet on site to house a mix of users including office and retail tenants. One of the newest tenants is Pinewood Social, a multi-use entertainment complex designed to become a social, gathering place.

Pinewood Social is a 13,000 square foot entertainment venue opened in a restored trolley barn near downtown Nashville and adjacent to Ascend Ampitheater.
Pinewood Social features a main dining room with dining booths and tables centered around a copper-topped bar. An award-winning restaurant serves a full lunch and dinner menu accompanied by an exquisite cocktail program. At the venue’s entrance, a coffee shop is flanked by sectional couches, long tables and an ample amount of power plugs for laptops.
Nashville’s Pinewood Social keeps guests entertained with a six-lane, vintage bowling alley complete with period-specific ball returns and scoring tables.
An outdoor swimming pool, pool bar, bocce ball court and cabana seating are spread throughout a popular, outdoor cabana area at Pinewood Social.
The Doro District is rapidly taking shape and will soon include more entertainment, retail and office users, joining the wildly popular Intuition Ale Works, BLK SHP and Manifest Distillery.
Construction continues on Daily’s Place, a 5,500-seat amphitheater and flex facility adjacent to Everbank Field that is slated for a May opening.
