Adaptive reuse and selective demolition could make the Landing a destination again.

This proposal would allow the Landing to continue hosting restaurants and venues like the former Fionn MacCool’s, Chicago Pizza, and Maverick’s, which were among the few businesses in the Downtown core open nights and weekends. For other spaces, one use with a lot of potential would be a food hall - a venue that hosts a collection of local, artisan food and drink vendors. Norfolk, Virginia has had considerable space using a food hall as an anchor in its version of the Landing, the Waterside District.
