The applicant for the Brooklyn project is Chris Allred, AIA of Charlotte, NC-based firm, The RBA Group. The 6-story, 80-foot-tall hotel would include a ground floor lounge and bar with outdoor dining at the intersection of Oak and Dora Streets and a fitness center on the second floor. The parking garage includes 2,377-square-feet of retail activation area on the ground floor.

General Information:

DDRB Application 2024-007 seeks Conceptual Review for the AC Hotel and Parking Deck, located at 800 and 825 Dora Street, in the Brooklyn District. This proposal is for the new construction of a six (6) story hotel with an associated two (2) story parking structure.

The subject site is located between Oak Street and Magnolia Street, on both sides of Dora Street. The parcels subject to this review do not occupy entire blocks, but rather, are only a portion of each block. The proposed hotel would be located on the west side of Dora Street, abutting a small existing surface parking area currently used by the Residence Inn hotel. Currently, this subject parcel is vacant. The proposed parking deck would be an “L” shaped structure along the east side of Dora Street. A portion of this area is currently vacant, but the Liddy’s Machine Shop building occupies a large portion of the site. This structure would be demolished to develop the parking deck.
