KISSIMMEE LAKEFRONT PARK
Kissimmee Lakefront Park is a $30.7 million 25-acre waterfront park that was completed in 2015. Dating back to a series of public hearings occurring since 2005, the park was developed in three phases over a five year period. Overlooking Lake Toho, the park features include a civic lawn, pedestrian paths and bike trails, sixteen pavilions, playgrounds, rest room facilities, floating docks, an over water bait shop and restaurant, a concession stand and extensive landscaping and site lighting.
Lake Tohopekaliga, also called Lake Toho, is known for its bass fishing and birdwatching. Covering 22,700 acres and spanning 42 miles in circumference, the lake is the headwaters to the Florida Everglades.
The Monument of States is a unique piece of public art featuring a piece from all 50 states.
The Kissimmee Civic Center is a multi-purpose special events venue. With a maximum capacity of 3,100 for basketball, it was once the home of the Florida Flight franchise of the Continental Basketball League and World Basketball Association.
Kissimmee Lakefront Park serves a major destination for an extensive off-street paved trail system under development for walkers, bikers and runners. Main off-street paved trails in the city include the Kissimmee Loop Trail and the Shingle Creek Regional Trail.
