BOLD CITY BREWERY
Bold City Brewery opened in 2008 by the mother and son team of Susan and Brian Miller. Brian was a homebrewer heavily involved with the CASK homebrewing club while Susan worked as a manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. Today, nearly the entire Miller family is employed in some facet of this booming business.

In 1968, the citizens of Jacksonville voted to consolidate the city and county governments into one body, a radical concept at the time. This led then-Mayor Hans Tanzler to adopt a slogan for this new consolidated form of government, proclaiming Jacksonville to be ‘The Bold New City of the South’. It seemed fitting then, that the Miller’s bold decision to open Jacksonville’s first new brewery in nearly a century inspired their new namesake: Bold City Brewery.

Bold City Brewery has since undergone several expansions within their current warehouse complex aimed to boost production capacity, including the addition of a canning line to ramp up statewide distribution of their locally brewed products. A second location that will house a brewpub and specialty beer production facility is currently under construction in downtown Jacksonville.
