Big changes for the Square One building

(Sleiman Enterprises)

Toney Sleiman and Sleiman Properties purchased three buildings in the heart of San Marco Square in 2019, and has since been renovating them. The buildings are 1974 San Marco Boulevard (the former Square One building) and the two structures on either side of it.

Originally the Towne Pump Drugs and Sundries, the Square One building dates to 1925. It was the first commercial building built in San Marco Square, and remains a centerpiece of the district. However, the aging building has also experienced structural problems, and had been empty for years when Sleiman bought it.

Sleiman Properties is considering splitting the building with separate tenants on the first and second floors. They do not intend to move forward until the entire space is leased, and there could be as many as three tenants in the Square One building. To create space for signage, the latest plan calls for the removal of existing crape myrtle trees in front of the building.
